Purpose:
To provide objective, independent, evidence-based knowledge and tools to meet the challenges of crime and justice, particularly at the state and local levels

Summary:

Funding for social and behavioral research on, and evaluations related to, crime and justice topics relevant to state, local, tribal, or federal criminal and juvenile justice policy and practice.

Topics include the following:

  • Policing/Law Enforcement
  • Justice Systems
  • Crime Prevention/Causes of Crime
  • Violence and Victimization (including Violent Crimes)
  • Drugs, Alcohol, and Crime
  • Program Evaluation

Eligibility:

States; local governments including federally-recognized Indian tribal governments; nonprofit and for profit organizations including tribal nonprofit and profit organizations; institutions of higher education including tribal institutions of higher education; and certain qualified individuals.
